Pups & Perambulations #2
It is time for another perambulation with our pups.
THE PUPS
Today is Dozer’s thirteenth birthday, according to the documentation we received from his shelter when we adopted him. I’d be lying if I said he wasn’t showing any signs of age, but he is still impossible to tire out on walks. So, of course, we had to take him on a nice, long walk for his birthday. We love him an absolutely ridiculous amount.
Do not be fooled. Dozer wanted to keep going, but Amelia is the one who wanted to rest for a bit. Why is she wearing a muzzle? She is low to the ground, incredibly quick, and obsessively eats stuff off the ground. She had to have surgery several years ago to remove a palm pit in her intestines. It was a scary time, and we were glad to find a soft, breathable way for her to be safer while outdoors. People think she’s so cute in the pink! (It’s called a “Crazy Felix” if you’re interested.)
THE PERAMBULATION
These are photos from tonight’s walk around the Sail Bay part of Mission Bay.
San Diego is a great place to explore with dogs. Nothing makes Dozer happier than being on a walk, and Mission Bay is one of his favorite haunts. There are wide beaches, green parks, and almost fourteen miles of a shared bike/pedestrian pathway. Dogs are allowed in most areas if they are on leash, but there are time restrictions: dogs are welcome before 9 AM and after 6 PM (April 1 to October 31) or after 4 PM (November 1 to March 31).
We didn’t see any sea creatures tonight, but Dozer had a great time walking along the water’s edge and sniffling kelp drying out on shore.
Hope you enjoyed this brief perambulation with our pups!
